“Necessity Is The Mother of Invention” -

A Family’s Story

Better. Faster. Cheaper. The story goes you can only achieve two out of three. You can make something better and faster, but it can’t be cheaper. You can make something faster and cheaper, but it surely can’t be better.

We didn’t buy that.

This started in a home, with family.

Our son is a goalie. A deck hockey goalie. And a damn good one, too. Like any parents, we want to give him every opportunity to succeed. But when it came to sliders, we kept running into the same problem. They were expensive, hard to get, and honestly… not that great.

So we decided to make something better.

What started as late nights in our home with a 3D printer quickly turned into something bigger. This wasn’t just tinkering. We were solving a problem I knew other parents and players were dealing with too.

We focused on building sliders that were lighter, faster, and more effective. Something that actually improved performance. And just as importantly, something that didn’t come with a ridiculous price tag.

Countless prototypes. Some test runs on the rink with my son. And we have a product. One we’re proud of.

What started as a project for my son became something family built together.

That’s what Otter Belly is.

A family-driven brand, built inside our home, designed for families like ours. We know what it’s like to invest in this sport. We know what it’s like to want better without overpaying.

So we made it ourselves. And now we’re sharing it with you.

Better. Faster. Cheaper.

All three.
